This is Mark’s 16th year at East Side and 10th year as principal. He was also a teacher, basketball coach and an A.P. Mark was born in New York, but grew up in New Haven, CT. He did his undergraduate studies in Social Thought and Political Economy, History and English and his graduate studies in Education at the University of Massachusetts. He also received a MS. Ed. in Supervision and Administration from Baruch College in NYC. In addition to loving his work at East Side, Mark enjoys reading, playing basketball, doing yoga, watching independent films, listening to music, cooking (and eating), telling corny jokes, rooting for the Mets, following college basketball, submitting entries (and never winning) to the New Yorker cartoon caption contest, and spending his summers in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
