Kate has been teaching at East Side Community High School since 2003, although her connection to East Side dates back to 1999, when she completed her student teaching placement here while earning a Master's Degree at Teachers College, Columbia University. She is a Boston native who moved to New York City in 1994 to attend Barnard College, where she majored in political science. She also spent her junior year abroad in England, studying politics, philosophy, and economics at Oxford University. Before returning to East Side "for good" in 2003, she taught in Crown Heights, Brooklyn and overseas in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Besides teaching, travel is one of Kate's main passions.
